KORR metabolic analyzer

Stop estimating your metabolism. Measure it.

Online calculators guess your calorie needs from height, weight and age. The KORR metabolic analyzer measures them — using indirect calorimetry to read your oxygen consumption and calculate your true resting metabolic rate in about ten minutes of quiet breathing.

The science

What resting metabolic rate tells us.

Your resting metabolic rate (RMR) is the energy your body spends simply staying alive — typically 60–75% of everything you burn in a day. Because oxygen consumption is directly proportional to calories burned, measuring the oxygen you extract from each breath gives a physiological number rather than a population average.

Predictive equations can miss an individual's real RMR by hundreds of calories in either direction. That gap is often the whole difference between a plan that works and a plan that stalls.

  • Set a calorie and protein target based on measurement, not a formula
  • Confirm whether metabolism has adapted after repeated dieting
  • Track metabolic rate through GLP-1 therapy to protect lean mass
  • Explain stubborn plateaus and unexpected weight regain
  • Screen for a slow metabolic rate worth investigating further

The test

About 10 minutes

You sit comfortably and breathe normally into a sterile, single-use mouthpiece while the analyzer samples your expired air. No blood draw, no exercise, no discomfort.

Your results

Same visit

You leave with your measured RMR, an estimated total daily energy expenditure based on your activity, and calorie and protein targets for fat loss, maintenance or muscle gain — reviewed with you line by line.

Retesting

Every 8–12 weeks

Metabolic rate shifts as weight, muscle and medication change. Repeat testing during GLP-1 therapy shows whether you are losing fat while defending metabolism.

Before your test

Five things that keep your result accurate.

  • Fast for 4 hours — water is fine
  • No caffeine, nicotine or supplements for 4 hours
  • No exercise the morning of your test
  • Arrive 10 minutes early and rest quietly before testing
  • Bring a list of your current medications and supplements

Metabolic testing is an assessment tool, not a diagnosis. Results are interpreted alongside your history, labs and goals. Testing can be booked on its own or bundled with a weight management or gut health consultation.
